電子機器の取扱説明書が、1つの２次元コードで7言語表示＆音声対応に！

このたび、弊社が提供するアクセシブルコードのバックエンドシステム「QR Translator」が、ガンマ波サウンドケア kikippa の新製品「kikippa イヤホン」の商品パッケージに採用されました。

健康価値の提供を通じて社会に貢献するシオノギヘルスケア株式会社とダイバーシティ＆ヘルスケア領域での研究開発と事業化に取り組むピクシーダストテクノロジーズ株式会社による、世界初※1のテクノロジー、「ガンマ波サウンド™」が搭載されたオープンイヤー型イヤホン。

（※1）入力される音声に含まれる部分信号に40Hzの振幅変調を行って音声を加工する技術（特許取得済み）。
アクセシブルコードは、これまでにシオノギヘルスケア様の医薬品50製品以上にご活用いただいておりますが、今回は電子機器である「イヤホン」の取扱説明書の多言語対応および音声対応を実現するために、QR Translatorをご採用いただきました。
※今回のパッケージでは、２次元コードの周囲に凸凹仕様を施していないため、「アクセシブルコード」ではなく「QR Translator」としてのご提供となります。
取扱説明書を７言語で表示
電子機器の取扱説明書には、使い方や仕様、注意点など、さまざまな情報が含まれています。そのため、母語が日本語でない方や視覚に障害のある方でも安心してご利用いただけるよう、２次元コードからアクセスできるコンテンツページでは、日本語・英語・中国語（簡体字／繁体字）・韓国語・ベトナム語・ポルトガル語の7言語に対応しています。また、それぞれの言語で音声読み上げも可能です。
説明の一部にはイラストや図も使用していますが、視覚に障害のある方にもできる限りわかりやすく伝えられるよう、AIによる自動読み上げのままではなく、音声だけでも理解できるような表現を工夫しています。さらに、実際のガンマ波サウンド™もご試聴いただけます。
今回の導入をきっかけに、これまでの医薬品や文具に加えて、電子機器など新たな分野にも、製品特性に応じた最適なコンテンツをご提案してまいります。

Gamma Wave Sound Care kikippa has adopted QR Translator, the backend system for Accessible Code®, as part of the packaging for their new product: kikippa earphones.

These open-ear earphones feature Gamma Wave Sound™ technology, the first of its kind in the world.* It is a product jointly provided by Shionogi Healthcare Co., Ltd., which contributes to society with quality health care products, and Pixie Dust Technologies, Inc. which engages in R&D and commercialization in the diversity and healthcare spheres.

Shionogi Healthcare Co., Ltd uses Accessible Code® on more than 50 of their pharmaceutical products. For this electronic device, they adopted QR Translator for multilingual and audio-enabled instruction manuals.The primary difference between Accessible Code® and QR Translator is that QR Translator is a 2D code on a flat surface, whereas Accessible Code® is printed with tactile markings.
Instruction manuals for electronic devices cover everything from setup and usage to specifications and precautions. To ensure that consumers who cannot read Japanese or who are visually impaired can access this information, the QR Translator content for kikippa earphones comes in seven languages: Japanese, English, Chinese (Simplified and Traditional), Korean, Vietnamese, and Portuguese. Text-to-speech audio is also enabled for each of these languages.
Illustrations and diagrams are integrated with the multilingual text and provide additional clarity and explanation. However, if this sort of content were simply read out loud by the AI, visually impaired users would not benefit from the context of the diagrams. In order to make the content as easy to understand as possible, we also devised expressions that can be understood by audio explanation alone. In addition, within the QR Translator audio content, there is a short sample of music played using Gamma Wave Sound™ technology.
Creating accessible content for kikippa earphones was our first step into the field of electronic devices. As more products in this field adopt Accessible Code® and QR Translator, we will offer optimal content for each one, just like we have done so far for pharmaceutical and stationary products. We will also continue to enhance our services so that Accessible Code® and QR Translator will be used on a wider variety of products in the future.
