For the first time since I arrived Japan, I came back to my home country twice in the same year. I mostly try to come back every 2 years, which is a good pace according to me. Moreover, it was the first time in 4 years I came back for new year celebrations.

This time I was exclusively located in Paris as my wife was still attending French class there. We didn’t go outside Paris.

Last days of 2017

In France, end of the year is meant to be spent with family and friends. We mostly spend Christmas day and the day after with family, eating delicious food together and waiting for presents from Santa on the Christmas eve. Santa was kind this year :D

I spent most of the time with the family. Here is our christmas eve dinner

We have for this purpose 2 national holidays, on December 25th and January 1st. If you travel to France around these 2 dates, be careful because almost everything is closed. French people need to rest after such great dinner!

I spent also some time with friends, meeting mostly in Paris or at home. Here is an Asians-learning-French party at home!

Here are some of my engineer classmates in a bar, speaking about IT, blockchain and investments (drinking beers and eating ‘french’ fries with cheese of course).

And here is the New Year Eve at one of my other friend place nearby Paris, where we wished everybody a happy new year and all the best for 2018! NYE Party theme was “the 90’s”, and as you can notice, I didn’t follow the dress code.

Happy New Year & Best Wishes
