Export Japan’s SDGs

We at Export Japan Inc. are proud to be pursuing several Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

The 17 Sustainable Development Goals were adopted by all UN Member States in September 2015. They are international goals to be met by year 2030 as laid out in the “2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.”

17 goals and 169 targets were established by the UN to create a sustainable world, and they pledge to “ensure no one is left behind.”

We at Export Japan have chosen to align with the following goals.

Flextime

  • We encourage all staff to enrich both their private and professional lives and to lead a physically and mentally fulfilling lifestyle.

2-hour Lunch Break

  • By making it easier to create time for short personal tasks like seeing a healthcare professional, we encourage staff to prioritize their health and well-being.

Refreshment Leave

  • Staff are granted for a few bonus days of holiday to help them stay rested mentally healthy. After three years at the company, staff members are awarded three extra days and after five years, they receive five days.

Remote Work

  • If an employee wishes and if it is feasible, they can perform some or all of their work from home.

Self-Improvement Funds

  • We have introduced a subsidy system granting full-time employees up to 5000 JPY and part-time employees up to 2000 JPY per month to promote self-development. The funds can be used for books, to attend lectures, language courses, or similar educational opportunities.

Qualification Support System

  • This system is put in place to support employees who wish to earn a qualification necessary for their job, such as Japanese Language Proficiency, TOEIC, system management, and so on.

Company Lectures

  • Staff members who are familiar with specialized fields hold lectures in-house for other staff.

  • Women make up approximately 50% of Export Japan’s full-time staff.

Balance Childcare with Career

  • In addition to offering maternity leave to all employees, Export Japan adjusts working schedules to accommodate raising a child, such as by rescheduling working hours or allowing a full-time employee to switch to reduced hours.

Employees may participate in projects that outside their department if desired.

  • Each employee is also interviewed about their individual interests every six months  every six. This helps us provide opportunities for employees to take part in a variety of projects and stay motivated and engaged.

  • By creating a system in which employees can change their work patterns to accommodate their marriage, childbirth, child-rearing, caring for their parents, and so on, we eliminate needless loss of employees and foster business growth.

A step towards universally accessible printed material through Accessible Code

  • Accessible Code」 refers to the printed code and tactile markers is a proposed means so that make printed materials easily accessible to people with visual impairments. By reading the printed code with their a smartphone, anyone can and have the printed information on printed material spoken aloud in whatever language they desire.
