韓国人のインターンが加入しました！

こんにちは。経営支援部の石原です。年末が近づき、気ぜわしく過ごしております。

弊社では昨年から東京で大阪東京スタッフ合同忘年会を開催しています。

そのため、食事の手配やゲームの企画など、忘年会実行委員会のメンバーは本業と並行して準備にいそしんでおります。

さて、東京オフィスに韓国人のインターンが加入しました。康といいます。

それではインタビュー形式でご紹介します！（文章の流れが自然になるよう、言葉を足したり引いたりしていますが、気軽に読んでください。）

■　Where are you from? (city name and country) Please tell us about the good points of your city

私はソウルで生まれ、小学校4年生の時に日本に引っ越ししました。延世大学で勉強するために、交換留学生として韓国に一時的に戻った以外はずっと日本に住んでいるため、人生の半分くらいを日本で過ごしています。生まれた都市であるソウルは韓国の中心地であり、文化財から有名なレストランやカフェまで楽しめるものが沢山あります。中でも光化門(クァンファムン)は伝統的な雰囲気を感じながら、現代的な建物が見られる場所です。伝統な建物としては景福宮(キョンボックン)があり、宮の前には韓福(ハンボク)を着て写真を撮る人が多いです。駅の近くには大きな本屋さんがあって宮の近くには様々なレストランと素敵なカフェがあります。さらに、ソウルは交通もとても便利で市内を簡単に移動することができます。

I was born in Seoul and moved to Japan when I was in the 4th grade of elementary school. I have spent half of my life in Japan, except the one year that I went back to Seoul to study at Yonsei University as an exchange student. Seoul is the center of Korea, and there are so many things to enjoy from cultural heritages to famous restaurants and café. Gwanghwamun is one of the places that people can feel the traditional atmosphere and see contemporary, modernized buildings at the same time. There is Gyeongbokgung Palace and many people are taking photos wearing Korean Traditional clothes, Hanbok. Moreover, there is a big bookstore near the station and various kinds of restaurants and nice café are also located near the palace. Transportation is also well developed, so people can easily move between district to district inside Seoul.
■　Where is your recommended location in Japan?

日本でのおすすめの場所は草津です。草津は群馬県にあり、温泉がとても有名です。家族旅行で草津に行ったのはかなり前のことですが、平和な雰囲気と美しい景色は今でも記憶に残っています。新鮮な空気を感じ、体験センターでは草津温泉の歴史を学んで活動をしましたが、韓国では決して体験できない貴重な思い出になりました。それに、冬の草津はさらに綺麗でした。温泉が好きで、日本の田舎の雰囲気を味わいたい方には、草津をおすすめします。

My recommended location in Japan is Kusatsu. It is in Gunma Prefecture and very famous with Onsen. It was quite a long time ago that I went there with my family, but the peaceful atmosphere and beauty of the place remain fresh in my memory. I liked the fresh air of Kusatsu and the experience center where I could learn the history of Kusatsu Onsen and do some activities. It was so interesting and has been a valuable memory that I could never experience in Korea. Moreover, since I went to Kusatsu during the winter, the scenery was so beautiful. I recommend Kusatu to those who like Onsen and want to feel the rural atmosphere of Japan.
■　What are your interests or hobbies?

私は韓国の伝統パフォーマンス全般に興味があります。中学の時に初めて韓国の伝統舞踊と楽器を習い、学校内外の様々なイベントに参加しました。高校卒業までその活動を続け、大学に入ってからは交換留学生として韓国で勉強した時にサークルに入って、また韓国伝統楽器の練習に励みました。色々な伝統パフォーマンスの中でも、15人以上のパフォーマーたちが同時に５種類の楽器を演奏する、ダイナミックな「プンムル」が一番好きです。

I am interested in general Korean Traditional Performances. I firstly learned Korean Traditional Dance and Instruments when I was in junior high school and participated in various events in and out of school. I continued it until I graduate from high school and would play again by joining the Korean Traditional Percussion Band Club while studying in Korea as an exchange student. Among various traditional performances, I like Pungmul the most, a dynamic performance in which more than 15 performers play five kinds of instruments at the same time.

■　What is the weirdest thing for you in Japan?

おかしいことだとは思ってないですが、日本には韓国と違って気軽に使える「YOU」という言葉がないことに気づきました。韓国では、ほとんどの人が友達を呼ぶときに「야(や)」または「너(の)」という簡単な一言を使っています。もちろんお互いの名前を呼ぶ時もあります。個人差もありますが、私の場合にはそれは親しくない友達を呼ぶ時で、親しい友達同士で名前を呼ぶと気まずくなります。しかし、日本ではほとんどが「OOちゃん」や「OO 君」のように名前で呼んでいることがわかりました。「君」や「あなた」という言葉もありますが、それらは友達同士では適切ではないので、そんな言葉使いが韓国とは違っていると思いました。
また、多くの日本人女性が「可愛い」という言葉をよく使っていることにも気づきました。主に、他人のファッションや化粧を褒めるために使っていることはすでにわかっていますが、ある日本人の友達が「この苺のケーキ可愛い」と言ったのを見て、どうしたら苺のケーキが可愛くなるのか理解できなかったことがありました。

I do not think it is weird, but different from Korea that there is no particular word to refer to ‘you’. In Korea, most people use the words ‘ya’ or ‘Nŏ’ to call their friends. They sometimes call the name of each other, but it might be between friends those who are not close with and it makes me curl my toes if I call the name of my close friends. In Japan, however, I realized that most people call their friends’ names, like ‘OO Jjang’ or ‘OO Kun’. There are words ‘Kimi’ and ‘Anata’, but those are not appropriate between friends, so I thought that is different from Korea.

Moreover, I realized that many Japanese girls say the word ‘kawaii’ very frequently. They mostly use ‘kawaii’ to compliment their friends with what they wore or how they put on makeup but I saw one of my Japanese friends say it when she saw a well-decorated sweet dessert, like ‘Kono Ichigo Keiki kawaii’. I could not understand how a strawberry cake can be cute but I thought it is one of the words of compliment to make others feel good.
■　What inspired you to study Japanese?

私は幼い頃から父の仕事のため日本で育てられました。日本に引っ越ししてからすぐは日本語を全く話せなかったことはもちろん、ひらがなも全然書けませんでした。幸い、私の学校には来日してばかりの学生のための日本語教室があって、基本的なことから日本語を学ぶことができました。韓国人の友達は皆すでに日本語が上手くて、私が日本語や日本文化に慣れるように助けてくれました。また、日本語を一生懸命に勉強したいというモチベーションにもなりました。しかし、私が通っていた韓国学校はほとんどの授業が韓国語で開かれたので、日本語で話す機会がほとんどありませんでした。そのため、私は大学に入ってから、特に日本語のクラスや日本人の友達と付き合いながら日本語で沢山話そうとしています。

I started to live in Japan from a very young age because of my father’s business. When I first moved to Japan, I could not speak any Japanese and even could not write Hiragana. Fortunately, my school had a Japanese class for the students who just came to Japan, so I could learn Japanese from a very basic level. Moreover, most of my Korean friends were already fluent in Japanese, so they helped me a lot to get used to Japanese and Japanese culture. They also motivated me to study hard. However, there were few chances to speak in Japanese because I was in Korean school and most of the classes were held in Korean. Therefore, I tried to speak a lot in Japanese after I entered university, especially, in the Japanese class and with my Japanese friends.

■　What are you expecting from this internship program?

私は今まで会社で働いたことがないので、EXJが人生で初めてのインターンシップです。このような貴重な機会を与えてくださってとても感謝しており、様々なことを学んで会社にも役に立ちたいと思います。私はこれから日本で就活をする予定ですので、日本にある企業がどのように仕事をして、どのようなビジネスコミュニケーションを取っているかを学びたいです。また、EXJの様々なプロジェクトに参加しながらオフィスでの仕事にも慣れて行きたいです。特に私はウェブマーケティングに興味があるので、EXJで働きながら多様なツールやプログラムについて知り、ウェブマーケティングに関しても学びたいです。さらに語学力と共に翻訳のスキルを向上できれば最高だと思います。EXJでの経験はこれからの自己開発にとても役に立つと期待しています。

I do not have any previous experiences working in the company, so Export Japan is my first internship position in my life. I appreciate a lot for giving this precious opportunity and I will do my best to learn and experience various things in EXJ. First of all, since I am planning to work in Japan after graduation, I would like to know how the Japanese companies work and what kinds of business communications are they taking. I also want to participate in various projects of EXJ so that I could get used to working in the office. Moreover, I am interested in marketing especially, web marketing so working in EXJ would be a good opportunity for me to learn about various tools and programs as well as get knowledge of web marketing. It would be best if I could improve my language ability, especially in translations. I believe all of the experiences in EXJ would be helpful to develop myself.
■　What are you studying at your university? Tell us about your dream?  

私は早稲田大学の国際教養学部で勉強しています。国際教養学部はリベラルアーツ教育を重視し、グローバル化に従ってクラスの共通言語で英語を使っています。また、国際教養学部には科学から文学に至るまでの様々な科目があるため、勉強したい分野を自分自身で選ぶことができます。私は主にメディア、ジェンダー、韓国文化・文学の授業を受講し、現在学部のメディアコンセントレーションプログラムに参加しています。将来のキャリアはまだ決めていないですが、韓国と日本を行き交う会社で働き、日本での経験と私の言語力を生かしたいと思います。また、マーケティングに興味があるのでその分野についてもっと勉強して、会社のマーケティング部で働きたいと思います。

I am studying at the School of International Liberal Studies (SILS) at Waseda University. SILS focuses on liberal arts education and mainly uses English as a common language during the classes. There are various subjects in SILS from science to literature, so students can choose the courses that they want to study. I have mostly taken the courses related to Media, Gender, Korean culture and literature and currently participating in the concentration program of media. I haven’t decided on my future career yet, but I want to work at the company where I can work between Korea and Japan and utilize my experience in Japan as well as language abilities. Moreover, since I am interested in marketing, I want to work in the marketing department after study about it more.
